About Topincs
Topincs is a software for putting data on the web. It enables individuals and communities to view and edit data in the web browser. It emphasises modelling over programming allowing business needs to take precedence. A web database tailored exactly to your business domain will be ready to use within days rather than within weeks or even months when using traditional technologies.
How does it help?
Topincs is of help in any situation where information needs to be recorded and accessed or modified at a later stage. But some challenges uncover its true strength:
- Urgency: You need your multi-user database NOW? Your Topincs store can be ready within a few hours!
- Agility: Not sure about the model? Need a lot of additions? The model can grow with your demands. Adding form fields is a matter of minutes.
- Flexibility: Your domain is just too difficult to be modelled? Topincs uses a very flexible abstract data model and can handle any level of complexity.
Technological background
Topincs is based on a variety of modern information technologies. At its core lies the semantic technology Topic Maps of which it uses the ISO standards Topic Maps Data Model and Topic Maps Constraints Language. This core is supported by the traditional cornerstones of the World Wide Web HTML, HTTP, and URI complemented by Web 2.0 enabling technologies AJAX and JSON.
Well, after a little bit of using Topincs I can say that this is the most useful free tool i have ever seen to manage knowledge pieces!
